Heads up all Discover card holders!
Today on Discovery Channel the company put out a commercial stating that all online purchases made with your Discover card qualify for 5% cash back in the month of December!
That means you might want to wait until December to buy your gifts, etc.
Also, this offer appears to apply to all online purchases, including from merchants and also app stores, services, etc.
Hope this happens!

Notice to mods: sorry, this is my first HU POST, so please put it in whatever category this belongs in...

That's in addition to the 5% quarterly bonus for online purchases?

I never got in the habit of using ShopDiscover (and it's not my primary card). Seems like most of my online purchases use a coupon code or some other "offer" found outside ShopDiscover which might nullify their rebate.

I've got a Macy's credit card, but ShopDiscover's 5% cashback is better than Macy's rewards, unless they're running a special deal.

I just made a $24 Groupon purchase without using ShopD. I canceled it and will rebuy to get an extra $3.60 off. Though when I reached Groupon through the ShopD link, I couldn't find that particular deal. Using that same browser tab, I pasted the link of the deal, and bought it. Hopefully that works.

I'm actually surprised this card is worth using. I've noticed I haven't charged anything on my other 6 CCs in the last month.

Well I now know why I don't use the card. I placed a few online orders recently. And half of them get flagged as unauthorized by Discover. Then my card is locked and my orders canceled. And I have to call Discover to unlock my account. STUPID. With time sensitive or limited stock deals DON'T USE YOUR DISCOVER CARD. That's what I've learned. The first time I thought it was a normal hiccup. Now that it's happened again and again I'm done with the Discover card. Waste of my time, especially when I lose out on deals because Discover is so extra cautious.

Weird. I use my Discover for all sorts of stuff online all over the place, including Chinese sites. Though most of those probably actually go through Paypal, I guess.

Thats the way it is with most CCs -- I didn't know you wanted it line by line for each transaction

PenFed rewards platinum is the only card I know that shows it for each transaction
I can view rewards per charge on captial one plat. as well.

$1500 charged and paid back using Amazon Payments. New statement generates today-now waiting for the $75 cash back to post.

Thanks for the heads up -- didnt realize that other card issuers have been doing it

Checked my Cap1 Sony card and looks like they do it

Checked my BOA World Points card and they do it too -- pretty cool that they show details about bonus pts for each transaction as well (base pts + bonus pts = total pts)

Are you sure you will get cash back for this txn?
I was just denied for bank of america cash back for my txn which purchased the buxx card though it showes regular purchase in the statement. So please be careful. Some card companies are getting very picky on the txns they give cash back
