Nice that we spent millions on legislation to suck money from amazon, and in the end the state will get nearly nothing and probably spend more money processing the taxes and pushing them around than they'll make. Geez, and I thought it was because their products stink, and because the costs to make these went down a lot. Whatta maroon I am! ![]() I had the agility 3 240gb. It made my sons computer blue screen once a week or so, and do other weird crap until I fully powered down the machine. Dropped an m4 in there and no problems at all for a month. The agility 4 is taking a beating in reviews and in the press. Its still getting new firmware every 2 weeks to fix serious issues. Its performance drops significantly once its more than 50% full, due to aggressive garbage collection. These drives are worth what you're paying for them. Maybe less. And to think that a company would lower a price and not pocket the profit even if production cost went down. Only competition can get price to drop in a more rapid rate. Don't be so naive. Why do you give out dated info? I'm pretty sure you've read that firmware 1.5 has fixed the 50% performance issue in the agility/vertex 4. Selective info does not help anyone in the forum. We're not politician here.

I just read the review on the Agility 4 on Anandtech here [anandtech.com] . This review compares the Agility 4 and it's big brother, the Vertex 4. Vertex 4 currently $210 on NE.
Of note.... "Without a real time compression engine, the Agility 4 is considerably slower than its counterpart equipped with synchronous NAND. It's clear OCZ is using its clever performance mode to hide a lot of the limitations of using asynchronous NAND. As you fill the drive the Agility 4's peak write performance drops considerably. While Agility 4 is priced competitively, it's not cheap enough to be worth it. Where the Agility 4 makes sense is when it's heavily discounted." I would call the price after rebate listed in this thread "heavily discounted", but some might be tempted to wait for a sale on the Vertex. |
