I bought a bunch of these Tenergy Centure LSD AAA's for my kid's geotrax, remotes, etc. I swear that unless they are *freshly* charged, they're dead (i.e.: -- they are NOT functioning as a LSD battery).

Maybe somehow I got a bad batch of the 20 or so I had ordered...or maybe Tenergy's are just crap. Yes, they are much cheaper than Eneloop's, and while I do like them better than standard rechargeables, just not that impressed...

actually, I've been using their LSD 9V batteries (they are among one of the few who make those) and charger, and can vouch for their quality. Going strong for more than a year now. It's a shame there's no Eneloop or other reputable vendor to choose from.

hmm so can i put these in series and get 32volts to run my sons electric bike?

$14/12 (shop4tech, +tax in CA) is $1.17/ea vs OP's $1.1/ea +tax in ?.

s4t used to be cheaper (as low as 90c ac) when they were selling 36, but as of early this year they only have 4 or 12.

I only use them on Panasonic DECT phones. They work better on these phones than anything else I have tried.

I'm not sure Tenergy was even good in the past. At one point, their US distributors were paying people in the form of free merchandise/discounts to post shill reviews on forums all over the internet. There was an entire pay structure based on how established of a member you were in that forum, the length of the review, the quality of the review, etc. And the batteries were complete crap. Looks like not a lot has changed, and I now personally ignore any post that "vouches" for Tenergy.

I totally agree with you stisev! I spent a lot of money on their larger rechargeable batteries and they were a total disappointment. Never again!

I agree Tamdrik!

I had problems with my Tenergy's dying early, not maintaining correct voltages, and worse of all, the back end [negative side] collapsing. They would slowly dent in, little by little each time you charged them.

Incredible fire risk.

That was my problem with them too. Got a pack of about 25 or so of these AA and AAA a couple of years ago, and none of them hold a charge. Every time I wanted to use one, it had to be charged again.

But the high Amazon reviews all come from legit reviewers, so maybe they have gotten much better.

Prob because there isn't a big market for anything but AA and AAA rechargeables. I remember getting a deal on the blue tenergy's years ago (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V & charger) -- I suppose for rechargeables, they were OK (first exposure to rechargeables), but once I started using LSD's, never looked back. Rather use an adapter to convert AA into C or D... and as for 9V, only use those in smoke detectors, and never really wanted to use a rechargeable in a smoke detector...

Ya, good point. I'm using the 9V for the wireless mics. I wish they were AAs... woulda been so much cheaper to get LSD batteries; smoke detectors go berserk when they're running out of batteries, so I think you should notice before they die.

i had these tenergy before they are CRAP! rather spend a lil more on better ones...my 2 cents!

I got a few Tenergy lithium polymer batteries for free when I bought an R/C helicopter on eBay. Obviously lipo isn't the same as LDS NiMH but they worked well. I'm tempted to try these.

I ordered some Centura LSD AAA from s4t when they had a coupon sale. Works great in my Panasonic DECT phone. Factory regular ni-mh weren't happy after more than a year. I will cycle those in my LaCrosse charger and use them for remotes.
