Just wanted to add this will be my second one. Will finally get rid of my 2 tivos, which will save me $20 a month. Ordered the one that comes with the wmc remote ($137). So I can teach my harmony one.

Do you need to learn the codes? My Harmony One works perfectly with WMC using the existing database codes in the Logitech software. I set it up as in the photos from the link below:

Wow. That looks pretty simple. I will try it tonite. Don't you still need the USB ir receiver for the harmony to work? I have one now with my current htpc, since the mb didn't come with it built in. The USB adapter that comes with the wmc remote will be used with another pc I'm slowly building for the bedroom.

Yeah you still need a receiver. I found some cheap ones on eBay.

Maybe they just price matched? I just checked NewEgg and it was $180. It was $130 (I bought it at NE when it was that price) but I know it went back up.

Yeah, eBay is where I bought the first one. I figure $137 for the prime, remote, and adapter is a good price. Now the waiting begins. Gotta love neweggs combo deals.

Can someone tell me if this can be used just as cablebox replacement?

I mean instead of cablebox, I will use this. Is this possible?

From the videos on youtube I see that this has been shown working with windows media center PC to record shows.

So if I understand correctly...

1. This can be attached to the router.
2. Cable card is connected to this at cable source.
3. Windows media PC on your network automatically finds it as both are on the network.
4. Using windows Media Center now one can record 3 shows at a time or watch cable on your PC.

My question is, how do I watch everything recorded on PC, on my TV?

I have already cut the cable but I will definitely get the cable just for NBA season but I don't want to rent the DVR and Cable box for Cable company (Charter) but just have the cable.

I assume this will replace the Cable DVR box for me and record shows on PC. Just my question is how will I watch my shows on TV without directly connecting the PC to TV.

Also, is this compatible with Mac OS? Any Media Center SW available for Mac OS?

If your pc is not connected to your tv, you will need an extender (xbox is one). I don't believe Mac os is supported as far as copy once cable channels. Google silicondust forums for more info on Mac os.
