Great news!
Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

Please let me forewarn you this will be long but I am hoping it will be helpful.
Over 20 years ago I had a similar situation but I was not hospitalized. I had a young child at home and I refused. I felt worse than awful and could not breathe, I was so sick I was afraid to go to sleep because I was sure I would not wake up. No one could seem to actually figure out what was wrong and I was put on every strong antibiotic in the world (or at least it felt like it). I was XRayed till I glowed in the dark and had I do not know how many sputum tests of the awful junk I was coughing up day and night. I saw 2 different ENT as well as a array of other Drs. I was in the outpatient facility more times than I care to count. With every new antibiotic I got a little better and then got worse again. I was so sick if I did not have a little one I would not have gotten out of bed. Long story short I took my older son to the family Dr because he was not feeling well. As I was sitting in the waiting room (hacking my brains out as usual) the nurse at the front desk asked me why I was not in there as well. I explained I saw every specialist in the world and they were still trying to figure it out. She thought for a few moments and then asked me if it would be okay with me if she asked the Dr about doing a blood test for a specific problem. She explained they had a patient in a short while before that had the same problem and she had a strong gut feeling I had the same thing. That nurse turned out to be my Savior. The blood test revealed I tested positive for MycoPlasma. Mycoplasma does not really respond to the strong antibiotics...it responds to the old standbys like Erythromycin. Please research Mycoplasma and see if you think it is worth taking the simple blood test (just a small amount and I am sure they have a whole lot more from Mrs by now) to at least rule out that it could be Mycoplasma. At the time I was told Mycplasma was pretty rare and I got lucky but sometimes I wonder if it is not usually diagnosed properly and that is why it is so rare, I sure hope this works since it turned out to be a simple fix to a complicated problem. It took a while since I walked around with it for so long- but eventually all the symptoms went away. |
