Fenix LD10 LED AA Flashlight $40.33 + fs

Lowest Amazon price ever for this amazing EDC (every day carry) flashlight.

Yes it is 40 bucks, but the build quality is amazing, and you'll probably have it for the rest of your life if you don't misplace it Smilie

If you've never owned a "premium" flashlight and could find a use for it sometime, I'd highly recommend it.

(This pairs well with an eneloop LSD battery as well.)

LD10 is going to be half the size, and it also has the newer generation XP-G R5 LED where the E21 has the older XP-E R2.

E21 is a great light too, but the form factor (if you have it on you all the time) is why I'd recommend the LD10, much more palatable in size. If just for camping and every once in a while use, E21 is definitely excellent as well.

"XP-G = more efficient/overall brighter, but broader/floodier beam (due to larger LED die)
XP-E = less efficient/overall dimmer, but more focused beam which will throw further (due to smaller LED die)"

Flashlight FAIL. Sounds like a $10 light from Merittime

it's why I hate cycle-through multimodes vs. 1 or 2 modes max with a simpler user interface, but either way anything from fenix is going to be much better than those cheapies.

Yes, it takes 2 AA batteries, BUT, I find it fits comfortably in my back pocket. As I'm currently residing abroad in a 3rd world country, it goes with me everywhere I go. Similarly, the wife carries her E21 in her purse.

Let me preemptively say that these types of lights are for more than just finding a box in the attic or finding that thing that rolled underneath the desk. Think "outdoor use," "long distances," etc.

1st of all, I would not call this a "Premium" flashlight. It's better than most of the crap out there, but Fenix is no Surefire. I have 3 of these lights and I love them for what they are, small, AA, light, bright, and mostly reliable. They will however not ALWAYS turn on without adjusting the bezel just a smidge. I also have 4 or 5 other Fenix models that do not have this problem. I also have 4/5 Surefires and a few Streamlights that are 100%. (yes I have a problem) IF you want a good little flashlight for you pocket, then this is a good price for a good light.

Some people are like Slinkies:
Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

(Competition sellers on Amazon detect their drop in prices and adjust accordingly... that's why it is cheaper right now. Yesterday I'm sure it was up in the fifties.)

I own three different Fenix lights. Sure they might not be made in the USA, but the are far from being "junk". I for one have hated all my Maglites Frown

I had quotes around Premium to try to keep the "It's ten bucks at wallmart" etc crowd from piping up like they always do. Sadly it wasn't particularly effective.
Also, my light has always turned on with the first click. From the reviews, it would appear that a few people have had an issue with that though.

My LD10 has "twist" for Turbo modes, and untwist for normal brightness modes, and then a cycling button category under each of those. I kinda like it Frown
