Great rebate Companies:
Patriot Memory (4myrebate.com): 6 Weeks Tiger Direct (4myrebate): 3 weeks Rain-X (in house): 3 weeks BAD BAD MAIL IN REBATE COMPANIES: Xigmatek 26 weeks, 14 emails, 2 phone calls (finally received) NZXT 21 weeks, 4 phone calls. Check that was finally received was dated 2 months earlier with a 90 day expiration on it, giving me about 25 days to cash it. Shady shady shady. |

I have both the backlit and non-backlit Lenovo HTPC keyboards. I actually like the original (non-backlit) better for HTPC use. The backlit model has a set of bumps that acts as a scroll wheel thingy, which sounds good but it's way too easy to accidentally fast forward or rewind whatever video you're watching.
Battery life is much worse with the backlit model as well. |

I use this for my HTPC as well, and the scroll wheel sensor has never bothered me while using the keyboard or mouse. |

Regarding the wireless N5901,
If you're planning to use this on a computer that uses a mouse with high DPI, then you're going to be unhappy with the sensitivity settings. Also, the trackball is hardly accurate, and you'll find yourself rolling your thumb an extra 2-3 times to point at what you want. On 1920x1080p, with the mouse setting on "5" with no mouse acceleration, it takes a good 5 thumbrolls to cross the screen. Before hand I was running 5600DPI with windows on the 3rd bar, but unfortunately, the sensitivity of the trackball is very poor and I had to bump it up to 5 while sacrificing about 4000DPI. B It's a challenge to type in the dark,. You should place some marker on some of the necessary keys (in my case, i put a silicone sticker on top of my down-arrow key). Overall, I'd avoid the N5901 unless you're fine with lighting. The battery life is excellent. Anyone who says otherwise is picking up some crapped up 25c batteries. |

I'll try a head set for $23. This site [besthots.com]has more info. I assume it charges via USB? which would be fine by me, don't need more things to plug in outlets.

Can somebody please tell me if this keyboard can be used as a keyboard for my smart tv. I have a lg smart tv and I hate to use the remote for search function in the apps. I am looking for a keyboard kind of device that I can connect to my tv. my tv has usb ports. Sorry if this is a noob question.
Any suggestions are appreciated. TIA |
