I'm debating if I should get this for my old 2007 black Macbook (currently at 1 gb ram). But it can only hold up to 3 gb :/

Is it worth it? Will my Macbook just use 3 gb of the ram and leave the last gb unused?

Typically when there is a restriction for an odd number like 3 it is because of a software limitation (32bit) Thus I would venture to say that your computer will just leave the rest unused.

I do warn that macbooks can be a little finicky so I would look for reviews of the memory mentioning that the ram has been used in a mac.

I do highly recommend moving up the ram amount if this is your daily driver 3gb vs 1gb in the mac os is like night and day in terms of performance

Yeah, that is a good price, but still pretty ridiculous. Combined with the cost to replace the battery, I think I'm just gonna get a new device.

Can't decide what form factor, though. More powerful Windows 7 machine, a big tablet (which means I have to do my gaming elsewhere), or wait for prices to drop on a good touchscreen laptop with Windows 8...
