Yes the Pioneers are best bang for the buck compared to the Sony's. I remember a while back they offered the BS41 for $100 as well. Wished I splurged for the larger speaker, but I am still super happy with the BS21, especially if you will pair it with a sub. A lot of bass extension already ~55 hz.

I wish I could fit these in my apartment.

Yeah, I'm liking them so far. I wanted the Polk floorstanding speakers for ~$110 at Newegg but I wasn't in the market for one at the time. I can't seem to find the proper place for these Pioneer bookshelves.


Has anyone figured out the ideal placement for these bookshelves? They're too big to mount and yet too small to stand on their own. And when you buy stands for these, they're about the same price as the Pioneer floorstands.

would these two improve sound dramatically if I come from the speakers in Onkyo HT5400 series?

receivers the one that came with that HT5400 as well.

also, would dimensions on these be about equal as those?

can i use it for pc?

Those were the BS41s, they are slightly larger than these.

A reviewer on Amazon said the following:

"Upstairs in my living room i have ONKYO HT-S5400 7.1 system and i have been happy with it. It gets nice and loud and gives you a nice surround experience but nothing compared to these speakers paired with the matching center channel speaker. The onkyo's have a good sound turned out but at normal listening levels you probably wouldn't immediately know if it's the speakers or the tv sound. With the pioneers you always hear a really rich full sound that you immediately know is a good pair of speakers. When turned up watching a blu-ray they sound incredible."

Yes, but you will need to hook everything up with a receiver. Which is about 2~3 hundred.

They are getting rid of the older Version speakers.

Andrew Jones have an updated version of these which are slightly more expensive. Supposedly the newer version is much better build and better quality.
