Yes, any games that list steam as the DRM will just give you a code to activate on steam. For pre-orders, as I understand it (first time preordering from them for me) they send you the key on release day or a few days before.

Is this a good deal for sleeping dogs? i did a search on slickdeals and the game was priced at $20 http://slickdeals.net/f/5067758-S...t2play-com how much is the DLC even worth?

Edit: If you anyone is hesitant on buying from Direct2Play then read some of the comments posted by many slickdealers and decide for yourself.

It's the lowest price for a legit US version. The DLC (I would expect - do not own it) isn't worth $15. The $20 deal @ direct2pay (they're not the same as direct2drive which is now gamefly) is one of the Russian shops that sells Russian cd keys from the physical products. You could potentially lose the game or have your account banned (if they wanted to be really nefarious, they could use the key to hijack/steal your steam acct though I doubt they'd do that). They're basically like any of the other ebay-type shops selling gray market keys that may or may not be safe to use.


GMG is the cheapest right now for an authorized steam store. This game just came out and its single-player only, so there is some potential for it to drop considerably (ala Deus Ex and other square enix games) in the next couple months. I already have something of a backlog so I might wait for it to be cheaper, but it looks very promising - from what I've read it's kind of gta meets batman arkham. If you want it right now, it's a pretty solid price.

I noticed this is not the limited edition either. After doing some research GMG used to sell limited edition keys for just $40.. I'm not sure if $35 for regular edition is a great deal. But at this moment it is a good deal. Also, if you want this game without the DLC you can get it from direct2play for only $20, it is the regular edition too.

edit: Just found Sleeping dogs limited edition on Amazon for only $31.49. Removed link, it will not ship to the States

Yup, that's what I was commenting on right above. The D2P one is very tempting if you have no problem ordering from a Russian ebay shop essentially. I'm not so comfortable doing so, but the $20 price there is a steal if you don't mind that. I would probably make a separate steam account though for those kinds of purchases so you don't lose your main should anything happen.


In terms of the version GMG is selling, I tried to figure that out before and I wasn't sure, seems to include more than just the base game (extra DLC), but that may be true no matter where you get it.

That's almost a super-awesome find, but they don't appear to ship to the US. of A. I was this close to jumping on that.

Wow I downloaded the demo to try it out, and noticed it didn't run because my OS is still on XP. Thank goodness i did not buy the game.

Wow that's a bummer. I no longer have XP on my machines (except virtualized for legacy stuff), but it's a shame they don't support it. It's true that XP is 10+ years old now and only about ~12% of steam users are running it, but there are a lot of newer games that still support it (in addition to older gpus). This game also seems to require DX10 as minimum which means DX9 cards are SOL. A lot of other games do still support XP. I know BL2 and SR3 both do.


For anyone with the specs to run it, they appear to have extended Sleeping Dogs @30% off until 9/10, which coincides with the end of the main sale.

Thanks for the post...finally got Dawnguard. Funny that my kids just were on me this weekend about buying this.
