Adorama

I believe this is the lowest price offered.

Pogoplug POGO-B01 Media Sharing Device (Pink) [adorama.com]

Pogoplug POGO-P21 Media Sharing Device (Black) [adorama.com]

$18.50 each with free shipping

Note, there have been some reports from J&R and Buy.com's deal that members were receiving the E02 model when they purchased the P21.

I've outlined the specs in a table below:

ModelCPURAMSATAARM
P21700MHz Dual Core128MB1x Internal?ARMv6
E021.2GHz Single Core256MB ARMv5

Make sure to check the label on the bottom of the Pogoplug for the model instead of the label on the box. The one I bought from Buy.com was labeled as P21 on the box but was actually an E02 according to the label on the foot of the Pogoplug.

it will cost you 30 dollars if you need to stream media.
You have to upgrade to Pogoplug Premium software.

Using Optware, I get about 10-15 MB/s file transfer speeds. Reliability wise, it's super stable, never have to reboot it! I have the dual-core version.
are you running samba?

OMG! So cheap! Ive been wanting one of these for a while, and now that is dirt cheap, i still cant talk myself into it. I already have a fullsize LAMP server, so anything PogoPlug could do, the fullsize could to better.

ARGH, I want to pull the trigger so bad. This is a great little item. If it ever drops to less than $15 i wont be able to resist a cheap toy anymore!

Can I just flash it with aftermarket software to allow it to use Transmission BT and have media streaming capabilities?

Which is easier to hack the Black or Pink?

I messed up my Pink one and all it does is blink all the time.

Gonna get another for SAB, SB and CP

I have considered these numerous times, but want to see CrashPlan ported (and stable) before I pull the trigger. I thought about buying them for family members to use as a mesh backup config of photos.

Anyone try something like this?

Yup, along with AFP too.

Of course! ArchLinux or Optware is what you're looking for. The $30 they are talking about is if you want to use the Pogoplug software to stream to devices, etc. If you just want to stream over your local network then this will act just like a small NAS.

Between the two P21 and E02, which one is better?
If you are not planning to hack, there is no difference between them i think.

E02 is better, 256MB ram is essential when you're running web server, mysql, media server, asterisk or transmission. It has much better support.

Got E02 from recent JR's P21 deal. But you never know until you got it.

I've already own 2 x Dockstar, 2 x B01 and 1x E02.
E02's hardware is similar to Dockstar with double Ram and half NAND(you won't use it anyway if it's hacked)

I got this last time from J&R. After setting it up, I realize I have no use for this.

Wow...I've been looking for something like this. I wanted to be able to access the files (video, mp3, pictures) on my external USB drive while my Home Theater PC is off. Not really heavy usage or anything, one or two devices at a time. Is this pretty much workable?

I got mine from the last deal, pretty awesome little box (E02).

Loaded it with optware, samba, transmission, sabnzbd, couchpotato and sickbeard.

Network transfers for me are around 20mb/s from an NTFS drive.

I can listen to music or watch any movies stored on it through the pogoplug app for iphone as long as cell coverage or wifi is OK.

My XBMC machines also stream HD from it no problem though local gigabit.

The only thing that I did not get working was deluge from source, has anyone been able to do this?

There is also a plugin for Chrome that sends .torrent files to transmission, so you don't even need to use the web interface.

Best $20 I've ever spent on a "toy".

how did you setup your samba users?

I'm having a problem where samba apparently locks my anonymous user account and somehow locks up the root account. then i can't get access to ssh or the samba drive. Pogoplug.com still works.

Ahh...this sounds just like what I'm trying to do.

I already spend enough time flashing my phones...I'd like to keep this stock if possible, unless the advantages are really worth it for my needs.
