We got sidetracked, and I apologize for adding to it. Sorry.
Benchmarks for the ARM chips. It's in Chinese [a language I don't read], but one can glean that the CPU/GPU performance of these new chips absolutely smokes the Tegra 2, and close to the quad core Tegra 3. The Chinapads will run neck and neck with the iPads N7 and Fires in terms of performance. http://bbs.1pad.cn/thread-45666-1-1.html The China sellers have reputations that are simply horrible - not unlike many sellers anywhere. I bought a DOA Sharp LCD tv from BB and they wouldn't take it back at the store. I had to escalate the complaint and even called Sharp. Took me three months before I got my money back. You pay China sellers using Paypal and dispute if you have a problem. It may take awhile but you will be compensated. Features: this is where the Taiwan/China/Japan makers excel. A MicroSD increases the memory. If you don't know how that helps you, um.... HDMI Out is just a great feature. Any LCD tv and PC monitor can be used as a screen. If this is not a feature you can use, um... Bloat is slowing down your performance. Your nice and shiny high powered mainstream tablet is sending your shopping and web browsing clicks to Google, Amazon or Apple whenever you are online. The tablet's memory has dozens of trackers [acts just like malware], shopping steering links and other sorts of software eating into your performance. Price: less expensive. So much so they are almost disposable. In a few year it will be outdated just like you laptop, computer or LCD tv. We change electronics all the time. Your tablet will be outdated before it dies on you probably. These Chinatabs come with a guarantee. Not a great one like you can get at Costco. Even Costco is selling Squaretrade. Go get SQ if you worry about your $112. Last edited by doinmybest; 09-09-2012 at 05:58 PM.. |

http://www.cheapnycnot In term of web browsing, this tablet smokes the ipad3, tprime, and even the nexus 7. I have no freaking clue why. But i think Americans do like to spend $80-$100 more on things which carry more oomph factor. They are not like Europeans who think 50 time before spending extra €50.
For example, my American boss bought $80 cap for his dog, just like that, and only use Apple products. No matter how much they cost or the associated value that comes with it. So I guess Asians and Europeans perspective of value for money might be different, $50 or $100 is just nothing for an American. Just a thought. |

I received mine today from gadgetgreats.com
It is all that it is cracked up to be. The mva screen is gorgeous and responsive, speed is like a Tegra 3, and it has JB. The first thing I did was root, and then drop in a deodexed rom with the US version of Google Play. I am completely satisfied and a happy camper. I am glad to have gotten rid of my Asus Transformer dual-core for this. Micro SD and HDMI makes this machine a much more versatile performer than the Fire or Nexus. I want to thank the OP for turning me on to this machine. $112 is a steal! |

Battery life is 4-5 hours depending on what I'm doing. Screen is pretty good and everything runs really smooth. It took longer than expected to charge but I think they sent a 1amp American adapter with it. I'm going to try charging it with a 2.1amp adapter since that is supposedly what they are rated for. Go to the SlateDroid forums [slatedroid.com] if you are interested in checking out custom ROMS, asking any questions or to see what other people are saying about it, I've found it helpful. I'm running SoulGem right now and it's good, might try Christian Troy's CM10 in a week when I have more time. |

Ainol is exhibiting at the Hong Kong Gift Fair this week.
FYI this is the wholesale price: 200 units @ $56 1000 units @ $50 The current retail price of $120, including shipping is fair for the Crystal. Ainol has quad-cores samples. Dual core may soon be the phased out by everyone except those manufacturers who have basic units which are meant to be "starter" tabs and phones. The prices for CPU's are not all that much different as there are a whole lot of companies licensing ARM tech. ARM does not manufacture - you have a fab, you can make them with a license. I bought two more Crystals and three Fires from gadgetgreats.com I am not a shill for them and you can buy from dozens of Chinapad retailers. I bought a few cases from aliexpress which has quite a few Chinapad retailers as well. They have ratings like ebaeeey. I got a sleeve for a 7" tablet from caseen.com which works great. I am thinking cases are not needed as these tabs are light and I want to read or watch videos while holding in one hand. A case makes the tab heavier. Any sleeve on fleabay works just as well, I believe. |
