Deal Details

Decent price for a decent .22 rifle. I realize that Academy Sports has the rifle without the scope for the same price everyday, but not everyone lives close to those stores. This is another option.. Excellent for Appleseed events, or for an early purchase for the holidays.

In Store Coupon is good thru November 15th. Can be used via Smartphone too.

From the website:

They also have listed a few other gun/ammo deals that may interest people who shop there regularly. I only was interested in the Marlin.

yes this rifle is a tack driver out of the box (well assuming you know how to zero the sights). With irons I was able to get about 0.5 inch group at ~25 yards. never put a scope on it yet so don't know any further.

If you happen to have a Cabela's in your area, this gun is on sale for $129.00. Score a 20 off $150 coupon on Ebay, add some ammo, and you have a slick deal. No cheapo scope however.

The problem with the 10/22 is that, besides being more expensive to start, you have to customize/tailor it to your liking (especially if you want it to have comparable accuracy to the Model 60), which will cost you even more money. Meanwhile, I'll stick with my Model 60, slap a $60 scope on it and have just as much fun, or more, and buy 2500 LR rounds with the extra cash.. Nothing against the Ruger, it's a great gun and if I could find the right deal at the right time, I'd probably get one for myself as well, but until then, I'll have to come down on the Marlin side. That said we usually end up shooting my dad's 39A Golden most of the day whether he brought his Ruger along or not.

I picked one up. The Marlin 795 is currently on sale for that price. I can't wait to try it out.

It's crazy that the 795 without scope was $100 last year and it's $130 this year on sale. That is an astronomical price increase.

I can't decide between the 597, 795, and the 60. The tube in the 60 has me worried if it ets bent some how and renders the rifle useless.

Dick's has the 795 for $140 right now without scope. I have a $25 GC to BassPro and they'll match local places.
