I have Optimus V with the $25 plan for the last year. If I get this will it seems I can stay on the $25 plan, correct?
Is this the best phone or the Triumph that we can get with our $25 plan? |

Virgin Mobile charges an extra $15 a month for hotspot. If you try to do it without rooting you will get an error 67 and will have to call tech support to get your phone working again. The upside of that call is that they will tell you your phones MSL, and currently that is needed to root the phone. But be aware, tethering without paying for it, is a violation of your Virgin user agreement. I don't tether, but I did root to get rid of Virgin Mobiles awful boot animation. |

Personally I don't see all the hype with the Elite for Optimus V users. The Elite for this price is a good deal w/ the $25 plan exploit if you are a virgin (ha) to Virgin Mobile, but lets face it... it really isn't that much of an upgrade for current Optimus V users (which I can safely assume is the prevalent phone for Virgin Mobile Slickdealers due the all the past deals/grandfathering). The Triumph on the other hand has a much better resolution, noticeably bigger screen, with a manufacturer specified 1 GHz processor. While it does have a horrible OOBE reputation, I plan on using a custom ROM if I get one. Only way I would consider an Optimus Elite to replace my Optimus V is if I can find one for $50ish~ new. Hopefully VM does an awesome Black Friday promo this year like last years... |

@ People buying this: You may want to consider the HTC One V. Amazon had it for $150, I bought one and can't believe the value for the money:
- Faster CPU - Android 4.0 - Aluminum unibody casing - Better battery life - Better screen (this IPS - hardly any color/contrast change at angles) - Very smooth/solid/polished HTC sense experience + Android 4.0. I'd put money down that this phone feels/responds and runs better overall than the Elite. Also.. I didn't know this at the time of buying, but HTC 4.0 phones come with 25GB free space on Dropbox.com for 2 years! HOLD OUT FOR HTC One V. Last edited by Caleo; 09-09-2012 at 03:42 PM.. |

It's very easy to root this phone.
Step 1: Settings Menu> Applications Menu> check unknown sources to allow you to install the following files. Step 2: Download the two apk files from this post> http://androidforums.com/elite-al...t-apk.html Step 3: Email the two files to your phones gmail account. Step 4: Install applications and run them according to the androidforums post above.
