Advice on fixing Verifying DMI pool hang with new SSD
I upgraded my sons computer with a Sandisk Extreme 3 240 SSD.
Been working for about a week...
Had his system set using AHCI, removed all drives, updated firmware, and installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on SSD. Worked great.
He said today it Bluescreened after installing fences and using Skype and now is stuck at Verifying DMI pool data. Last entry is ACPI and it just sits...
I've tried removing the CMOS battery (2 minutes)
Tried resetting bios
Tried switching to IDE in bios
Tried the SSD drive in my computer and it hangs there also (So same behavior on both systems)
Tried differrent sata cables and ports.
then I ran out of time.
So tomorrow my thoughts are to go the boot into Windows RE and do
Possibly Bootrec /RebuildBCD
I made a Windows Image after it was all set up last week so I have that image to fall back on I'd rather not re-install from scratch since his steam games take forever to download.
Other ideas are remove battery longer
Or change back to IDE mode.
Any other bright ideas experts?
My M4 has been flawless so is it his Sandisk? I thought they had the bugs worked out in the 240. Should have stayed with Crucial evidently. Its also an Intel/Gigabyte computer.
Thanks anything to save time if someone knows what to do.
