I need a basic camera to take pictures. I'm not very knowledgeable about sensors, but I read somewhere the CMOS sensors are better. I would like a camera with that type of sensor I think? What should I get? If I have to go over budget slightly I can.
Really, you can't go wrong with any of the larger camera companies (Sony, Olympus, Samsung, Pentax, Panasonic, Nikon, Canon, Fuji, etc), and even the non-traditional companies often turn out nice cameras. The GE cameras are supposedly the same as Fuji, and many of the above-branded companies that I mention actually have their cameras made by Sanyo. Or look at this company, Asia Optical, I'd bet that you could find some Nikon, Kodak, Olympus, and Fuji models that look eerily similar: http://www.asia-optical.com/sub_level.php?ls=295
You really just have to decide what body style you want, plus features. For example, this one is just over $100, but: http://www.amazon.com/GE-X500-BK-...B004LB4SAM
Look at the size. It allows it to fit more comfortably in your hands, plus having a larger camera allows you to use a better lens just because you aren't playing by any space constraints.
