the rumored 10-18mm or the 16-50mm are going to be much more expensive than this 16mm pancake. The purpose is slightly different too where this makes your NEX much more portable and very fast to AF to take pics over the zoom lenses.

The 16mm pancake is a good lens if you have NEX C3, 5N, or newer. I used it on my NEX-5 and without lens correction, the image quality was sub-par. After NEX-5n, I re-purchased the pancake lens and I'm happy with it....again.

The serve two diff purpose. I have both lenses and I also have both Fisheye and Wide converter for the 16mm. 16mm is good for landscape shooting, but the Sigma I love as a "walk-around" lens and for portraits. The Sigma is sharper too and @$150, it was a deal

I absolutely love to shoot landscapes.

I notice you have NEX-3 in your sig so if I were you, I may hold off on this lens as NEX-3 and 5 didn't have lens correction and some of the improvements that the 16mm needs for better pics. As I mentioned, I was disappointed with it on my NEX-5 so I sold it. But I notice people mention it worked better on NEX-5n, and so I bought the kit with it and it's definitely improved.
If you have Adobe LR4 to tweak (and lens correction) and plan on taking landscape pics only on tripod and remote (or 2 sec timer), while increasing the F stop, it may still work okay on NEX-3.

I was looking to invest into a DSLR system, but who knows, I may just decide to purchase the NEX-7! Thanks for the advice, friend.

Is this lens really worth getting if you have the 18mm kit lens? It's 2mm x the factor, and you get the sharpness, but I've heard some of these have issues.
