Here is the thing about tech stocks. Is that I won't be shock if Google and Apple won't be around in 20 years. Am I saying that will happen or it will likely happen? No, but I just don't trust tech stocks in extra long term in this case.
Should of made this clear, I am looking at something I can invest in and doesn't have to worry what-so ever. I am sure Google or Apple would be a good investment for a different kind of term. By the way all this is my personal assumption, and I know that stocks such as KO, XOM or MCD also has a chance won't be around in 20-30 years but I am willing to take that risk. Too put it in number I would guess the chance of those company go under in 20 years would be less than .5%, while the chance of giant tech companies such as Google or Apple would be 2-3%. All this is just my personal guess. Also I do know that the higher risk comes with higher return, however I want this to be a really safe portfolio. |

Hire a financial planner and tell them "I am looking at something I can invest in and doesn't have to worry what-so ever." They love clients what want all reward with no risk. |

I do have financial planner for more risky investment for 3-5 years term =) and I do have a good portion of my fund in more risky stocks.
I just want to set an amount that I feel safe on the side, you know the whole balance stocks/bond by minus your age from retirement age? This is suppose to be my safe money and I just really don't want to put it in bonds. thanks for the advice the easy stuff with common scene I can do myself. |

![]() If you want the ultimate in safety, then buy gold or silver bullion and bury it below the frost line in an undisclosed location and forget about it. #1: there's no counterparty risk. #2: They will never be worthless. #3: they're not investments, they're money. |
