The below coupon code on CallingMart.com checkout is giving an Additional 3% Discount on their already somewhat discounted AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Tracfone, etc Prepaid Refill Card prices.

Condition: You should have at least $18.00 in the shopping cart.

Additional 3% Off Coupon Code: ca3p-1207

http://www.callingmart.com

For Example: The AT&T Prepaid Refill Card of $50 denomination is currently selling for $48 at CallingMart.com. With the ca3p-1207 coupon code, you will get it for $46.56. Not a very big discount, still better than nothing.

I could have sworn that the last time I bought a T-Mobile refill card at Walmart, it wasn't taxed. Can anyone say for sure whether these cards are taxed or not at local stores?

I got taxed the first and only time I purchased the T-Mobile refill card from a 7-eleven in NYC. That was about November 2011.

These cards have the tax built in, you do not pay tax on them, anywhere in the USA.

Unless you're saying that it has changed since November 2011, my example proves that you DO have to pay tax at least in one place in the USA (my evidence says NYC) in that time period. I got one of the T-Mobile refill cards, the 7-eleven cashier scanned the bar code and charged me $10.87 for a $10 refill.

In New York state wireless refills should be sales-taxed by law, unfortunately. My personal experience just confirms that.

Callingmart is good. But if you have Chase Freedom credit card with Ultimate Rewards, currently there is gift cards sale for points. You can buy $100 Lands' End gift card for 80 points(i.e. with 20% discount) and then use it in Kmart or Sears to buy VM refill cards. Even paying sales tax you still have refill with 10+% discount.
do they have simple mobile too?

That is a shame. I just did some more research and this is what I found, at least about VM. If you purchase from VM web site, you get charged Sales Tax. If you purchase in Radio Shack, it depends what state you are in, as to whether you get charged sales tax/911 fees.
If you purchase from callingmart, no sales tax, so you can save a small bit of change.
Every little bit helps.

I recently (two days ago) paid $32.10 for a $30 card at Walmart in Florida, so there is sales tax here.

thx, code still worked today!

yes, there is tax when you buy a card, i had to pay tax for a refill at the Tmo store last time, maybe for the no tax states like Delaware & NH there isn't tax.
Heck, even Amazon's charging tax now! v.dislike!!!
