Wow, the *one time* the P226 is off the California roster, these show up. Go figure.

EDIT: Hm, 15 round mags. I doubt Buds would want to swap them out for 10 round mags anyway then.

Just sign up on facebook with Sig and they run great sales every few months. I am not sure about the P226, but I know that the P250 and P220 have been as low as $200 before. So if you are a little patient, there definitely can be a deal...

Go to a "gun buyback" in your area and stand across the street with a sign saying you'll pay cash. Cities usually give $50 to $100 in gift cards for guns. Sometimes you can find some good deals by getting to the sellers before the cops do.

If I remember correctly, they began manufacturing in the USA. Nothing wrong with the USA of course, but to save money the CEO began importing parts from other countries.

Unfortunately, their QC has taken a hit but they are still good guns.

I can't imagine anyone finding a legit (meaning working, non-stolen) P220 for $200. A P250, sure. But the 226,229, 220, etc and are in a completely different class than a p250 or the Sig Pro Series (SP2022, etc.) Those guns were designed to be "cost effective" and compete with Glocks and XDs. What I consider the real lineup of Sigs are still used by many law enforcement agencies across the country, including the Texas Rangers (226 chambered in .357sig), Department of Homeland Security, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, SEALS, NYPD and so on.

$579 is a pretty decent price for a CPO P226 or a P226R. More so if you're lucky enough to get a true West German SIG, which would explain the lack of rails in the one review. Unfortunately, when buying from someplace like Buds, you don't know what date code you'll get. As they say "You pays your money and you takes your chances". Typically about $80-100 higher at my local gun store. But YMMV.

As someone else pointed out, the warranty is only a year as opposed to a lifetime warranty. But at $250 or so less than MSRP, what do you expect? SIG already goes through it with a fine tooth comb, gives it an ultrasonic cleaning, refinishes the slide (but not the frame), replaces any worn small parts and is checked for fit and function by a SIG gunsmith.

Yeah uhm, go back and read again before ranting, that's for the conversion kits not a full gun. And explain to me your philosophy on why Sig would be selling stolen merchandise publically on Facebook?
