Is this really front page material? I've seen this receiver regularly for $40. And when you consider other similar products, this logitech isn't that great a deal. It's also only Bluetooth 2.1.

I'm a tech noob. I purchased a bluetooth Lenovo mouse (via SD Link), and everytime I try to use the mouse for my Toshiba computer, it states that the wlan modem and the bluetooth mouse use the same frequency, so my internet connection can get slower. It does seem slower when I use the mouse. How will this react if I use it with my IPad, will my wifi from the IPad get slowed down? Any solutions?

I know it's triple the price, but if I were going to get this, I'd consider getting an Apple TV instead. Similar size box, but it does so much more (and streams over WiFi instead of bluetooth). Assuming, of course, the bluetooth device you're streaming from is an iPhone.

I wasn't even looking for it, but I went to Monoprice and one of the featured products is similar to this one, and ships for $23 [monoprice.com]. Last edited by RowdyReptile; 09-09-2012 at 10:32 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

In all fairness, does apple tv do bluetooth for all devices or only for ios devices? Not really the same if it's the latter. You're taking a product that is a standard and works for all devices and comparing it to something specific for one platform.
That being said, these products [satechi.net] are bluetooth receivers and have the plus of being able to be used portably with headphones due to the built in battery and can control the player it's linked to as well as just be more of a basic receiver plugged into an input on one's stereo, soundbar, powered speakers or anything else with an aux input of any sort. And it's cheaper. As far as the autoconnect, I don't know a whole lot that do. My Belkin one in the car does, but it's a speakerphone and made for the car. Simple unobtrusive setup. Use it to stream from the phone or tablet and as a speakerphone when I forget the headset. Checkout Belkin Aircast [amazon.com] as well as the Griffin BlueTrip [amazon.com]. The Griffin copied a bit from the belkin from the looks of it. |

Recommend you check your audio devices, as I checked the Logitech site and this product does not appear to support either the ATPX or EDR Bluetooth profiles. EDR is supported by iPad and iPhone, ATPX by other phones, using either offers dramatically better audio quality. Belkin is a better option in this regard for $25 on Amazon. Works well for me!
