Dell U3011 (30" IPS monitor at 2560x1600 resolution) for $849.99 + tax (or 722.49 + tax with purchase of a desktop, laptop, or netbook computer) at Best Buy
Looking forward to ignoring all the inevitable "why don't you just buy a TV?" and "get a Catleap" posts.
Monitor [bestbuy.com]
Computers [bestbuy.com]
Promotion [bestbuy.com]
The Dell U3011 30" IPS monitor is on sale at Best Buy for $849.99.
Best Buy also has a promotion going on for 15% off monitors with the purchase of a desktop, laptop, or netbook. I tried adding the lowest priced item they categorized as a desktop, which was $99.99, and it still took the 15% off U3011, which brought the monitor down to $722.49. Also worked when I combined it with a Mac Mini, cheap $200 netbook, etc.
The price for the monitor by itself for $849.99 is already a pretty good deal even though it is speculated that Dell will release a U3013 (or 3014) in the near future, but it's pretty damn good at $722.49 if you can figure out some combination that works for you.
Note for anyone trying to combining the U3011 this with a Mac: Apple is also supposed to be refreshing their line of computers next week (possible new Mac Minis, 13" Retina MacBook Pros, etc.), so anyone interested in going that route might want to wait and see what happens (and hope the promotion runs long enough).
I'm still a little hesitant because I personally am not a fan of the anti glare coating on the U3011, and I have no need for another computer (already have a hackintosh, HPTC, and laptop), but at $722.49 it's really tempting. I guess I'd need to figure out which computer I could flip for the lowest loss to take advantage of the 15% off.
