How the Program Works
Q: How much does it cost to join Balance Rewards?
A: Membership in Balance Rewards is free.


Q: How do I earn points?
A: You earn points every time you make a qualifying purchase using your Balance Rewards card, key fob, or mobile app. If you forget any of these tracking devices, you can provide your phone number in store at the register. You will earn bonus points on a variety of items across the store each week and 500 points on every prescription you fill in the pharmacy. Only prescriptions picked up in-store are eligible to earn points at this time. You will also earn 10 points for every mile you walk in the Walk with Walgreens program. Due to state and federal laws, points cannot be earned on some items. Points will not be awarded to anyone who currently or was at any time in the 6 months prior to purchasing a Pharmacy item covered by Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare or any other government-funded healthcare program. Pharmacy items must be purchased at participating Walgreens Drugstore, Rxpress, Duane Reade, or Walgreens Pharmacy locations ("Participating Stores") to earn points. Q: I live in a state that cannot earn points for prescriptions; what else can I earn points on?
A: You can earn points on thousands of items in store and online. These items change weekly. You will also earn 10 points for every mile you log with the Walk with Walgreens program. At participating stores located in AR, NJ or NY where points cannot be earned on pharmacy items, Balance Rewards members will earn 10 points per $1.00 spent at these locations for every purchase of non-prescription vitamin or cough, cold, pain or sleep medication.



Q: Can I earn points for online purchases at Walgreens.com?

A: No, you cannot earn points on a purchase in which you are redeeming points.



Q: Do I need to use my Balance Rewards card to earn points and get discounted pricing?

Q: Do my points expire?
A: Yes, points expire three years after they are earned or if an account has been inactive for 6 months.

Q: How long does it take to convert to the new Balance Rewards program?
A: The conversion will take place at the checkout counter during your purchase. Some additional information may be needed to keep your membership up to date and active, but the process will take just a few minutes of your time.



Q: Can I use my new Balance Rewards membership right away?
A: Yes, your card is immediately active for use so you can get great savings and earn points right away.



Q: How soon can I redeem my points that were transferred over?
A: You can redeem your points as soon as you earn 5,000 points.



Q: If I don't have my FlexRewards card with me, can I still join the new program?
A: If there is enough information on your old membership in the database, you can convert your FlexRewards membership to the Balance Rewards program without a physical card.



Q: What if my previous FlexRewards points cannot be located?
A: If your previous FlexRewards membership cannot be located, join Balance Rewards and contact customer service number at (855) 225-0400 to transfer the points to your new Balance Rewards membership.



Q: If I was previously a member of a FlexRewards Club like Baby or Photo, will I still be a member of those clubs in Balance Rewards?
A: These clubs are not part of the Balance Rewards program. However, any points that you have earned with your FlexRewards membership will be transferred over to your Balance Rewards membership.



Q: If I never joined the FlexRewards program, can I join the Balance Rewards program?
A: Yes, you can join the Balance Rewards program at any Walgreens or Duane Reade store during the checkout process. You can also sign up online at Walgreens.com/Balance, DuaneReade.com/Balance, or on your mobile phone via the Walgreens mobile app.

While you may hate the RR, ECB or Ups system, this new Wags "points" program is by far the worst program I've seen. Totally done with Wags once this system is fully in place.

spare me. you know how many threads are in hot deals to sign up for various credit card (ie Discover/Amex) rewards/cashback deals. Or Airline/Hotel point deals that are no deal (get free 50 FF point worth about 39cents).

So yes, it is offensive when people start picking on a post that is no worse/no better than many appearing in hot deals.

I should also note, many people purchase the online nut/almond deals at Walgreens and currently they get "0" rewards points for their purchases. At least now they 'll get something, better than nothing.

This post is to alert people to a new program they have to register for. If you don't like the program or Walgreens, by all means, pass this by. But stop soapboxing a bunch of useless comments that are not helpful to anyone.

No one cares if you work at walgreens and think this isn't a deal. This can be a "deal" because if you earn enough points ( which at 500 pts per prescription can be accumulated rather quickly) you can get discounts as noted above.

You should know that just because you work at walgreens and are "assuring us" this isn't a deal doesn't mean your "assurance" is worth much.
