From the picture it shows on the website, this looks to be the same remote that came with the release day consoles. I have one, and it is not backlit, nor does it have the ability to control your television, just wanted to point that out since the website's description claims as much. Also, it uses an IR sensor, so it needs to be pointed directly at the console to work. That being said, I love this little remote and for only $5 I just ordered another. Thanks OP!

Own this one, not backlit, it doesn't work through my glass front entertainment center when sitting on the couch (7ft + glass = not working) randomly works with the glass door open, but only reliable at 2-3ft.
just stopped using it, and taught my babysitter & son how to use the controller. |

Don't buy this. Bought the same on on Amazon and likek jdr-eza said, it does not work more than 2 ft. Not practical at all.

I've had 2 of these. Each lasted about 6 months before the some of the contacts on the keys would go bad. The range was decent but it was very fussy about shooting straight into the IR window on the Xbox. Worth $5, but I'm going to wait for a slick deal on a better remote.

Had one of these for years, always preferred using a controller for media control, honestly. Not a bad deal if you prefer this type of thing.

Thanks! In for one, to replace my previous $5 Xbox remote. This one has an Xbox button, so I don't have to go through weird procedures just to have full access to the Xbox UI.

I was able to get a black refurb xbox 360 media remote for $4.99 with free shipping at Gamestop...I went to my local Gamestop and they didn't have any used in stock, so they gave me a free shipping code and I just ordered it online.

Have this as well as the back lit remote. Biggest gripe is its signal strength, maybe an eight foot unobstructed range at best in comparison to double that with the back lit version. Problematic for most of my usage.
