HostGator are the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with. Any client I have had who was on HostGator had nothing but complaints as well about their customer service.

Do you work for GoDaddy or have you just never heard of them before??? It's got to be one or the other.  I'm not sure there's a perfect host anywhere, but personally I can't wait to get away from GD... They've screwed me badly several times (their errors, not mine) and their prices just keep going up ("Bob" just wants the money to hire scantily clad women instead of adding toll free support or putting the money back into the customer experience). I have several sites hosted there, but I don't think I'll miss them when I'm gone...... PS- There's nothing wrong with scantily clad women, but get serious pal, you're supposed to be providing a service, not a joke.. Last edited by xcopy; 09-11-2012 at 08:49 AM.. |

You are in for a big surprise if you expect to have better luck on HostGator than Godaddy (or any bargain basement overselling junk hosts)
Excellent for projects you don't care about though I guess. |

I work at HostGator, coupon code was good only until midnight, hope ya'll got in while it was good! No, our site was never down, but might have had a brief slowness due to SD effect. I should have thought to post this as soon as I knew, which would've beaten OP by about an hour but I was busy farming GoDaddys customers
 Coupon code (godaddyisdown or reliablehost) was for NEW customers only. If you're already a customer and wanted to add a package then the normal 20% off would apply. It seems we did have to charge 1 cent to verify a proof of payment. Also, of those people that hosted with us but still had their domain registered at GoDaddy got a lot of their DNS zones reset and site went down.
