what's the diff between retail and oem if you are going to install it? If none then this deal is ok since it's from TD if different than retail box then this deal sucks

I think they just came out with 2013, so this is now old software. But hey, its free. I did the same deal with the 2011 when the 2012 came out...

Unfortunately, it appears they stripped out backing up to dissimilar hardware/migration from the main program and tossed it in a Plus Pack -- for an additional $30, Very handy when upgrading hard drives.
Good thing I kept the old version.... |

I have to pay sales tax so "free" turns into $1.45 for me. Plus the wait for a rebate to be mailed.

Slick but the product has gone down in quality.
I just did the trial version and removed it as the boot/recovery disk would not work. After removal, I found out that my windows 7 backup was broken. After quite a bit of time and effort (registry editing) I fixed everything but decided I would never buy another acronis product again, even if free. Shame, they used to be the best. I use Macrium Reflect now. The free version has everything you need (and no rebate hassle). |

I did a test backup and recovery of my 256gb SSD windows 7 home premium and it worked great, so not sure what your issue was. I'm on a diet and that's why I don't date fat chicks.
