Nope. If I were to do that with any rebate I'd choose a Symantec one. They're the closest to guaranteed (other than Staples Easy Rebates) you can get.

Ive only put MSE on a friends PC... so im no MSE expert (and I dislike AVGs user interface and also had a problem with paid for AVG AV (FAR) that the included code wouldnt work so I had to go through lots of red tape with their CS overseas - and I also had problems with KAS and its Firefox addon causing it to block lots of OK sites... )

but I thought this would interest you all who use MSE.. just read it in PC Advisor for this month...

appreciate the article, but I really have had no problems at all with it. and I run it on a LOT of computers (over the last four years, about 70) that are used by teenagers. as you can imagine, teenagers are the most gullible virus-ridden bunch there is. free ipod if i click here? i can't lose!

this is not to say that it's the best protection - i wouldn't be surprised if it isn't. but combined with a healthy dose of education about virus/malware prevention and triage, it's worked great.

1. don't open attachments from people you dont know.
2. there's no such thing as a free lunch. don't be so quick to give away your true information, download things, click on things, etc.
3. verify whether something is real. if a popup says you have a virus, don't panic and install their "cleaner". alt-f4, scan your pc, and move on.
4. don't watch porn at school.

Does anyone know why the online submission form for Norton rebates (at least) have a postmark date that's beyond the "within 30 days of purchase" timeframe that the PDFs always mention? In this case, purchase dates are 9/11-9/17, but the online form gives you until 10/24, apparently, to send it in. Which is correct?

Don't adhere to the 10/24 date. Use the "within 30 days of purchase date" to determine when to mail by. I just had my rebate submision invalidated due to this mistake.
