Will this play audio through hdmi?
It seems like the price is just short to a greatldeal, but if I can just hook up one cable to my laptop, I may be sold. |

Just wondering... is this really much of a deal? I actually have a $50 Newegg gift card to burn, and was looking to get a new monitor. Looks like this is only $10 less than Amazon. Is that the normal price, or did Amazon lower it, too?

This looks like like a decent deal. Last I saw was the $130 for the Black Friday deal last year. Has not been that close since.

It has speakers, but the reviewers say they are terrible. I'm thinking it has to be a step up from the audio quality my laptop produces.

I have this monitor and yes you can play audio through HDMI.. I currently uses this as my homework monitor for my Macbook air and sound goes through fine (Macbook Air - Thunderbolt display ----->HDMI Adapter --> HDMI cable --->Monitor). Alternatively I used this as my Xbox 360 monitor (Xbox 360 ---->HDMI----->Monitor) and continue to do so when I have guests for Xbox LIVE. Sound works fine.
