360 Keyboard

IE on the Xbox is awesome. It is really fast, responsive and they did a good job of turning a dual joystick controller into a mouse.

I'd buy a chat pad. Can get them for ~$10, maybe $5 used at gamestop type places. I got mine in a pack with a 12 month LIVE card and 800 pts. for like $45, a couple of years ago.



I have one now attached to a secondary controller and use it all the time. They are pretty responsive but do miss some key strokes from time to time. Plus, they are very small and you don't have to worry about charging them. The feel of typing on one is extremely similar to typing on a landscape cell phone. I wouldn't suggest typing out a novel with one but I would imagine you aren't going to use IE10 on your Xbox to type up crazy long emails all the time.

Most Windows keyboards work with the Xbox so look for one with that but your best bet is a Xbox 360 Chatpad you can get a New one with a headset for $22 at Target.com and you get 5% off and Free shipping with a redcard.

I have the keyboard attachment that Curtieson mentioned but it isn't the ideal size for someone with fat fingers like me unfortunately.

I forgot to mention that I don't use a game controller at all - universal remote, iTouch, and my Droid phone all work everything just fine, so the chatpad is not exactly what I was hoping to look at. But, if I can find one at GameStop, I might try it out (once I have IE of course ).

The real thing that sucks is the requirement for Gold just to use the feature. I have no use for much, if any, other features of Gold and yet I'm not looking forward to being asked to pay for something so completely unrelated to online gaming.

I do not think you can use a universal remote to control the Xbox's IE10 anyway. You need the joysticks to move around the screen. The universal remotes emulate the D-Pad. I have not tried using the Xbox remote, but my phone didn't work. (Might be an update on the way to make that work however...but it wouldn't be smooth or fast)

the harmony's circle pad emulates the analog pretty well (at least mine does on my 360)
