Honestly I wouldn't put any data I care about onto this drive. Probably wouldn't even use it without some form of redundancy (raid, backups, etc), and even then, it'd never be an OS drive.

These are listed as "ES.2". And yes, the 7200.11 was the problematic series.

This article seems to suggest that the "ES.2" series although differentiated from the 7200.11 series, seemed to be affected by the same problems...

not really.....
generally, warranty requires you to send in the drive, which would cost ~$8-9
add that to $5 warranty = $14
means that unless the chance of failure is more then 28% on this drive within one year, warranty isn't worth it.

I work at a hospital. My supervisor ended its relationship with dell due to them clinging onto self encrypting drives which malfunction. They were seagates....

We had to clone and slave the crap outta em....so I'm not happy at all with a Seagate anything!
