Wii U announcement coming tomorrow 9/13

Well I know I plan to buy 2 premium versions. One to keep and one to flip.

seriously though, besides the 1st person titles and bayonette!!, most of the 3rd party games have been out on the PS3/360.
Do you only own a Wii? I forget if you own other game systems or not
But can you really say you're excited to play like Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U, when the game's been out over a year on other consoles? Or Batman Arkham City (another 1 year game)?

Refresh my memory as to the great 3rd party launch games throughout the years? Star Wars for GCN. I'm trying to think of some more. I can't believe there are no others, but I'm drawing a blank. What was on 360? CoD2? That stick out as a classic like a Halo or a SMB64?

Third party launch games are at a huge disadvantage -- they've been using a dev kit for a few months. 1st and 2nd party get things from almost day 1. It means they need to keep retooling their games, sure, but it's built for the system. Third parties have to play catch up for a year or two when it comes to big projects. It's in the future that I'm looking for good 3rd party support.

again 2 games confirmed for launch: Nintendo land and New Super Mario Bros U.

Im sorry, i don't share your love for Nintendo factory games.
So unless i see a more robust 3rd party support, and some exclusivity that would make me want to buy said 3rd party game on the wii u instead of PS3/360/PC, its not a "draw" for me, and i would find it weak.

I'm not saying you should definitely get one. If it doesn't interest you, it doesn't interest you. I was just responding to your comment about the price "for what you get." Relative to what you got for a PS3 or 360 at launch, I just don't see why this price point should seem unreasonable.

guess the main thing for me is unless games are made specifically special on the Wii U compared to the PS3 or 360, why would you spend your $$ on the Wii U if you can get the same gameplay on cheaper consoles?

I'm getting it for the Nintendo exclusives and I think the tablet game pad should be pretty cool. I like buying things that are new.

So..... the basic version does NOT come with a charger. So what do you use to charge the remote? AA batteries again?
