Yeah, DeepDiscount cancelled my order without sending an e-mail or anything. I called and the CSR kept saying that the "billing address was incorrect," when that clearly wasn't the case.

I never had an issue with any other company but them... and they refused to re-place the order at that price. I spoke with a supervisor and he kept repeating that it was a "pricing error."

I rented a copy of Madden 13 for PS3 from the library. It's not bad, but I noticed some pretty bizarre animations. I was playing the Rams vs. Seahawks and Bradford threw like 9 interceptions on Pro Mode. Steven Jackson kept getting stuck up behind the offensive line and basically running into them and falling down. I wasn't really trying to force the passes, most were into single coverage. I know the Rams suck, but they actually have some receivers this year and Bradford isn't that bad... sorry.

Glad you got your copy though!

Deep Discount sucks, I have had plenty of trouble with them in the past.

Might not matter for some, but just a head's up that this year's madden got rid of fantasy draft, multi-user franchise mode, the ability to edit players in franchise, and a few other popular choices/tools. If your an offline madden player this could be a dealbreaker.

Multi user franchise mode is avaliable through online connected careers.

correct that fantasy draft and franchise player edit are indeed gone


but the new physics engine, while not without kinks, provides a good fresh feeling experience for fans of past maddens.

I wish I had known these things before I shelled up MSRP for this crap a couple weeks ago.

My buddy and I would play co-op Franchise almost exclusively in past Maddens. Now, it's not even an option.

Too bad I had already used the online code or I would have just walked it back to the store.

Thoroughly regret buying this. Got it on a previous deal - maybe an Amazon credit? I don't remember, but not worth it.

I don't see what people enjoy about this game. To start, the the menus are clunky and the animations are over the top. They eliminated certain modes from the game - now you have to be a 'coach' instead of a franchise. The in-game announcing goes to a new level of awfulness (in fact, this has me beyond aggravated. Give me robotic voices back instead of Phil Simms telling me I threw an incompletion when I just ran the ball or telling me I got a first down when it's 3rd and 10... COME ON). And on All Madden, while there's some balance, CPU players react with superhuman ability. Linebackers fly through the air to intercept passes (or knock them down if you adjust sliders). I know this is a problem w/ all Madden games, but it seems worse this year. Maybe it's just me, but the linebackers feel more like NFL Blitz.

To me, the game gets a 3/10. There's too many major flaws and the good parts of the game just can't cover them up.

TU for a good deal if you're really interested in this game, but to me, personally not worth $46 or any other price. Just too damn frustrating to enjoy.

I think it's the best Madden on this gen, but I agree on the interception problem--I play on All Pro and have two sliders changed: Computer INTs down and User INTs up. EA thinks the only way you can deter all out aerial attacks is to make every computer that is not a D-Lineman as good as a receiver, when in reality all they would have to do is turn down QB accuracy. I am a Cowboys fan and Romo is too accurate in the game--I think every QB aside from Rodgers, Brees and Brady(this pains me) is too accurate, you rarely see a QB just "miss" a throw in the game. So they make the computer INT the ball 9 times instead of making Bradford miss some throws that he would normally miss. I had a game with Romo where I was 24/29 with 3 INTs on All Pro, which is just ludicrous.

just like the Maddens before it, it's gonna $30 on Black Friday/Cyber Monday... just gonna wait, not like I have much time to game now anyways

I prefer the new menus, they took a long time to get used to, but I prefer them now to the old ones (aside from that the trading screen is almost useless now)

As far as "coach" vs "franchise" they are the same exact things aside from no fantasy draft (which irks me to death) and that you now have more options as a coach, coach schemes, coach abilties, and they added XP to where you can adjust how your players get better rather than the game just doing it for you.

I much prefer the new commentary as opposed to Gus Johnson randomly screaming I made 4 yards on a run to the left. They actually let Phil Simms and Jim Nance ad-lib a bit so it feels more natural (and that's saying something because I hate Phill Simms as an analyst)

As far as All Madden difficulty, maybe play All Pro and turn sliders up or turn some sliders down in All Madden. I'm not sure why you would complain about difficulty when you can change every aspect of the difficulty. The game isn't perfect, but IMO it's the best on this gen of consoles despite its flaws.
