Unfortunately I do not, I have triple play right now and was looking to downgrade to a double play package is how I found out.

Do you think DOCSIS 3.0 will get cheaper than this in the next 3 months? I can hold out until the end of the year...

I would say yes, 3 months is quite a while in the tech world. My guess is in 3 months you'll be able to get this (4 bonded channels) modem for a little cheaper, or probably a better (8 bonded channels) for about the same price or only a little more.

This modem is for HSI only and will not support digital voice service. It will not replace what you rent today unfortunately and I know that from experience. For Comcast the approved list for cable and telephony modems is here http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net/. There are telephony models by Motorola and Zoom not on the list and I would check with a technician before investing outside the approved list.

does cablevision charge for modem if you subscribe for triple play?

I looked to sell my old cable model on ebay. They go for around $10. At that price I am not going to bother. I am getting 30 mbs. If you need a super fast speed I doubt the ebay cable modems can keep up.

But if you are on the cheap plans, like the economy plan I am on with comcast, then you might be better off getting a used one on ebay.

I guess my old modem is a DOCSIS 2.0.

If you buy of ebay you might want to call the cable company tech support to make sure they can use your modem. They always ask for my make and model #.

For these kind of items, search your local craigslist listings. I got one of these for about 30 bucks. Works really well. I have Charter.
