Not bad price. I don't have need for this.
My company lets me get a new MBP every 3 years. I opted for 17" MBP, top i7 chip and non-glossy screen. It's pretty cool. Plus it's free for me. |

so tempting...never owned a mac pro before. my company provides us with laptops that we can take home so i don't really have a need for this, but still tempting...

Mac is not bad, however, switching windows and mac is pretty tough. Always took me 1-2 minutes to realize what I am using.
Windows is good for entertainment. You will like Mac is you like Unix/Linux. I often go to command line on Mac. It reminds me when I was in college studying CS. |

No Fry's around here unfortunately (in CT)... Amazon dropped the price on the 13" again (been watching it fluctuate between $1099 and $1179 past couple of weeks) to $1099 again.
With no sales tax on Amazon and 3% cashback with my Amazon card, final price was about $1066. Not as hot as $999, but best price available to me right now. Also had some gift cards that helped lessen the blow. |

Have you tried temporarily creating a new admin account (clean) to see if the issue still exists? How about safe mode... still consuming resources? If the new admin acc't doesn't work and you've tried a SMC reset, I'd suggesting visiting the Apple store... no cost even if you are outside the AppleCare window. |

She isn't right in saying macs are the best computers. She just hasn't seen enough of other brands to know any different. I'm not saying macs are bad, but it seems ignorant to declare that they are the best. All this said, I would say go with what makes her happy because that's what matters most. Hope you know you're paying tons extra for the brand and trend, though. Give rep where it is deserved, all it takes is one click! Give constructive criticism that can help others have a good experience here.
