Seems like a great price for a 480gb drive, the only thing that bums me out is the specs on the 480gb compared to the other versions of this drive (Scroll down on the amazon description page to see the table). The 4k random write iops are only 40k while the other capacities are all 60k, max IOPS are 40k instead of 85k. However the randrom 4k read iops are 50k instead of 20k/40k (so not all is lost). I know I know, most people won't notice the difference between different SSDs, but when you're an enthusiast these little things matter :-)
Not sure if I should pull the trigger or not, Vertex 4 512GB .M version has been in the $310-$340 range recently (and doesn't have any of the compressible/incompressible data performance deltas), but on top of that OCZ just started to reveal that their new Vector with the Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller will be available in Q4. http://www.anandtech.com/show/627...3-from-ocz No clue yet on the specs/performance, but maybe prices on the old vertex 3s and 4s will continue to drop? And you have to wonder if the other main SSD vendors are going to refresh their lineup soon too (Plextor M5 pro just came out, Sammy 830 has been out almost a year and is starting to feel a little old, etc etc)
