Take a moment to write the local BBB for Wal-Mart HQ:

BBB for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. [bbb.org]

Here is how I got a $10 discount for my next order from live chat:

"me: I would like some sort of apology from walmart for cancelling my order
me: like a gift card
Sarah: We can offer you free standard shipping on your next order. After you place your order, let us know, and we can refund the shipping.
me: I am not interested in the free shipping offer
me: ship to store is already free
Sarah: Then we can offer you $10 off your next order.
me: we are talking about a 42" HDTV. A $10 discount is not nearly adequate
Sarah: I will not be able to issue any more compensation than that, I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
me: what form are you going to give me the $10 discount?
Sarah: Once you place your new order, we can then go in and refund it from that order.
me: does this offer expire?
Sarah: No, it will not expire. It will be listed in the notes in your account.
me: Is this the best Walmart can do for a disappointed frequent customer?
Sarah: I am very sorry for the trouble you have experienced. If you wish to ship the item to your home, we will honor free standard shipping, or we can offer the $10 off your next order. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer further compensation.
me: OK, then. I'll take the $10 discount
Sarah: I have noted that in your account, After you place your next order, let us know and we can refund the difference."

ATTENTION RCA BUYERS- Be persistent (and nice) and speak to as many managers as it takes to get the $399 TV here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-46L...w9MynSeamY

for the $229 deal I had posted early in the thread, here is the original RCA TV deal http://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-Ref...Q/21130362

They are both the EXACT same TVs...I had to talk to 4 different managers with 4 different calls....Do not let them tell you they are different TVs. Hope this information helps!!

ALL OOS

The M420SV is compatible with Amazon Instant Video.
The OOS E422VL is also compatible.

Both are OOS

************** Has anyone received a confirmation email yet?? ****************

Many people getting confirmation on this.

Received a confirmation email on Friday then a backorder email this morning. Also getting fraud alerts from my credit card!

As of Wednesday 9-19-12, all orders seem to be in limbo and on backordered still.

As of Monday 9-24-12, many orders seem to have been cancelled. IF YOU PURCHASED WARRANTY, YOU HAVE TO REQUEST FOR A REFUND!

Has anyone been successful in getting the RCA 46" LCD for the $229 price, since it is again available in stock?

Still nothing from my BBB complaint. I didn't add my order number to the complaint, I wonder if that's what is causing the delay in response. I know they have 30 days to respond but it appears most have heard back by now.

They offered me $40 gift card or $50 off another tv today. I told them no thanks. I would rather just have the unresolved issue listed with the BBB. Not that it really makes a difference or anything, Just makes me feel better.

That's hilarious. They think their refurbished TV's are worth an arm and a leg now just because their Vizio's got hot on internet deals sites. They have their refurbished listed higher than it brand spankin new. LMAO. That's beyond hilarious. Now I know that they have no idea what they're doing online.

I would say post a side by side screen shot on peopleofwalmart.com but I just opened that site and my pc security gave me a back door attempt warning. Never mind then.

I was offered a $25 e-gift card or $50 off a different TV. Walmart called me and when I told the rep I wanted to be contacted via email the rep kept talking over me so I hung up. Then they sent me an email telling me that I have to call them back. I responded and gave them a piece of my mind...

Nothing on my BBB complaint yet, either. Wal-Mart is likely inundated with these things and is busy trying to figure out what will result in the least amount of loss - honoring the price to those complaining, handing out gift cards to those complaining, or risking the loss of business greater to their profit from that of the TV itself, especially considering this will probably be $300 for the non-refurb model on black friday at this point, as I see about a dozen of this TV just sitting in the aisles with nobody touching it...

I think Wal-Mart may just try to get the last laugh here - give those griping the refurb at $200, then sell the non-refurd Black Friday for $200 and laugh at us all...

I would be happy with that if it meant I didn't have to deal with WM on BF.

no way these tvs go for $200 on BF new OR refurb. if anything it will be a different model like a 60mhz with no built in wi fi.

price mistake or not, Walmart realized the TVs they worth alot more than they listed them for so they are going to hold out as long as they can.

Any ideas on what everyone is doing?

I got the same $50 towards another TV purchase or $25 egiftcard.

I'm trying to decide if it's better to just take the $50 and wait for another Walmart deal or just take the gift card and be happy and buy a tv from somewhere else.

I wish I could wait until black friday ads. I would buy one on their website if possible and then get the $50 off which would make it super slick!

Maybe they will have a 32" for like $89.99 and I'll get $50 off = $39.99 would be a nice steal.

OK they just called - they reoffered the $50 towards a tv or $25 giftcard again.

I held pat - until they offered $50 store giftcard.

I took the $50 egiftcard good online or instore.

Not bad to make $50 for literally 5 minutes of my time.
