I bought a Xoom w/ wifi over a year ago - it's one of the best tablets out there - Android ICS - you're not limited to Apple products, and there are plenty of wifi hotspots out there - I use the one I set up in my home, and I have it linked to my Verizon MyFi which I can bring along on the road with me.
I feel like biting on this to get a second spare one, just in case I damage my original one. Oh, you can add a 32gb micro SD card to have an additional 32gm of storable memory. I use mine to store lots of music and photos (why waste the main memory for that information), plus with the price of micro sd cards now, you can have spares. Also use mine as a Kindle Reader - I admit, it's a tad heavy for that, but I just prop it up. It's really fine - can dim the screen, enlarge/shrink the text - anything you want. I think it's the perfect gadget. When I'm on the road, I use it's GPS - works fine - never a problem. Google links everything - email, browser, app store. Also has camera on both sides - can take stills and movies. What's not to like about it. and the screen itself is big. Sure it's not as thin and light as the ipads, but if you buy one of them you're going to spend a few hundred dollars more, plus be locked into buying one Itunes products - you cannot buy any Android apps - none, nada - and when they update to a new ipad, all your old ipad stuff is now out of date. who the heck wants that from a company. apple can go stuff itself. I'll keep my Xoom next to my pillow and read at night, browse the web, and listen to my music. Korian |

It's a Touchscreen, like all the Tablets on the market - you can pinch-zoom in/out, scroll up down, point, highlight, press buttons, do anything just like a touchpad/touchscreen. Motorola automatically sends updates to it, and will update it to the latest version of ICS - I think mine is now at 4.1.4. For the one they're selling on Ebay - it's a Verizon 4G/Wifi version - the 4G will be locked, so only the Wifi will be good - I guess if you want to unlock the 4G, you'll have to contact Verizon and pay their steep prices. personally, I wouldn't. Wifi is good enough for me. And I definitely would get the Square Trade Warrenty - you never know with these refurb jobs..... |

I agree completely with this review. I use it for internet, I don't even use my pc anymore unless I have to print something. It is a bit heavy but I have a portfolio case and that props it up nicely. I have about 10 books loaded on it and this has prompted me to get back to reading more. |
