If you have a 4G phone with SIM card, aren't the SIM cards universal and can be transferred between devices?

I bought a Xoom w/ wifi over a year ago - it's one of the best tablets out there - Android ICS - you're not limited to Apple products, and there are plenty of wifi hotspots out there - I use the one I set up in my home, and I have it linked to my Verizon MyFi which I can bring along on the road with me.

I feel like biting on this to get a second spare one, just in case I damage my original one. Oh, you can add a 32gb micro SD card to have an additional 32gm of storable memory. I use mine to store lots of music and photos (why waste the main memory for that information), plus with the price of micro sd cards now, you can have spares.

Also use mine as a Kindle Reader - I admit, it's a tad heavy for that, but I just prop it up. It's really fine - can dim the screen, enlarge/shrink the text - anything you want. I think it's the perfect gadget.

When I'm on the road, I use it's GPS - works fine - never a problem. Google links everything - email, browser, app store.

Also has camera on both sides - can take stills and movies. What's not to like about it. and the screen itself is big. Sure it's not as thin and light as the ipads, but if you buy one of them you're going to spend a few hundred dollars more, plus be locked into buying one Itunes products - you cannot buy any Android apps - none, nada - and when they update to a new ipad, all your old ipad stuff is now out of date. who the heck wants that from a company. apple can go stuff itself.

I'll keep my Xoom next to my pillow and read at night, browse the web, and listen to my music.

only if you have a Mini Sim LTE
if you have the newer Micro LTE Sim card, everything i've read shows it will not work.
And obviously the new iPhone sim won't work either.

Better deal is the HTC Jetstream imo (though it only has honeycomb which sucks hard)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140814288...1497.l2649

plus you can use the stylus. it's faster and has a much better camera. better build too

If you get the keyboard dock for the Transformer, then it crushes the Xoom, and pretty much all the other competition: You get ICS Android, all the standard bells and whistles AND you get a real, physical keyboard for data entry.

If you don't plan to get the keyboard dock, then it's more of a tossup.

I believe some prefer this over the Thrive but I believe the Toshiba model has more expansion slots nod
Yes the Thrive does have more expansion slots I have two of them here. But the Xoom has 4G service where the Thrive doesn't have this feature. Toshiba Excite replaces the Thrive now.
