I own this and love it! Sure it's not the most advanced model, but I don't need my toothbrush to pace me.

If you currently own a manual toothbrush I would give this a try as it's one of the entry-level models. Price has been dropping over the last year as they are phasing this design out. Be sure to unscrew the top after use to rinse it out, otherwise mold will start growing (this is why they are phasing them out).

whats lame is that the original 5300 used to ahve the quad pacer. mine just crapped out after 5 years, bought a new one and the new one doesnt beep like the old one. That being said its still a great brush and Im not paying another $60 for a beep

There is a $10 coupon available at most dentists. Target store at south plainfield NJ has this in store for 39.99 - price cut till 9/29. Did not scan so had to ask store manager to intervene. Paid 28.49 after $10 coupon and 5% off for using target card.

I love my Sonicare brushes. I've owned a number of them. I like the more advanced models because they use different brush heads that don't allow junk to get underneath the screw on kind.

Also, I just want people to be aware that rotating brush heads are actually better at removing plaque. Still, I like the feel of the sonicare line.

I don't think it will be a problem at this price, I still have an original Optiva Sonicare, made in USA if you can believe it, from I want to say 1998 and it is still going strong.

Edit: I didn't realize, this is the 5300, hasn't this been on sale at Drugstore.com and others for about $24 plus rebate, I think I got one of these a while ago for $15 or so after all discounts.
