Not worth it
Would be nice to get $5 off the bill but having to give up my mobile phone number to get it is not worth it. I can just see my mobile number being inundated with offers and calls that I do not want. Once you give them your number you can't complain that they are sending messages or calling that number, plus there is probably a good chance that they are going to sell your number to other companies!

I've used mPerks for well over a year now. Never had a spam call or text. Meijer is one of those few companies that (it seems) you can still trust.

Well I got it to work with my wife's mPerks account, but now I can't do it with my own account. Two different cell numbers, and tried different devices, not sure what's wrong...

I had the same issue with not receiving the text message. On the page where you enter the activation code, just click on activated by replying via mobile, it will take you to the mobile login page. Login there and it will prompt for the activation code again. Click resend and voila, you'll get it
... just try 9999 if nothing else works, i have a feeling it is the same.. no harm trying  Hope this helps
