Pulled the trigger on the cherry CS1 Series II for $70. I'd say that was a pretty slick deal.

in 4 1,have been waiting for a long time. Finally determined, now I have to figure out where to put it which is the biggest challenge buying this.

I started out with just a cherry CS2 series 1 because I didn't think I would care about color with a mismatched system. Once you start upgrading everything though, it will start to bother you like it did for me. After I got some black M70s, I couldn't stand that the cs2 was cherry, and had a lot of trouble trying to sell it on Craigslist. I ended up losing about 40 bucks just to change the color, but it drove me crazy.
Newegg has the best deals on Polk stuff and the series II is a newegg exclusive. So if you ever plan on getting more Polks, they'll likely come from Newegg. Don't mismatch your speakers, even series wise. There is a gap between the grill and the speaker face, and you can see the silver along the edges. I have CS2, M70 fronts, M60 rears, BIC America F12 front subwoofer, and a Polk PSW505 rear subwoofer (it only comes with a silver face unfortunately). You can swear by your refurbished stuff all you want, but I have first-hand experience, and would NEVER buy anything refurbished.
Why do you think refurbished stuff is so cheap? The manufacturer gets defective products returned and unload them to 3rd party vendors cheap who try to entice you at 20% discount off retail. |
