Why buy a 5N now? The 5R was just announced. When that hit's the street the N will get cheaper. Remember the NEX 3 went as low as $25 when the C3 came out. |

I bought this for about $600 almost 3months ago and I can say I am very impressed with the quality (I'm no PRO though). For $499, this is a STEAL! The 5R will go for $750 with the same lens this current deal comes with, and personally, I would get the 5N for this price and invest my 'extra cash' in purchasing an additional lens.

Did it really hit $25 or was there supposed to be a 0 after that? Cause then I REALLY missed a slick deal. I have been waiting for VG10 prices to come down or maybe a 5n body to hit around $200 (refurb?) so I can have a 2nd body for video while I shoot stills.

They do sell refurbed NEXi. The Sony store online sells it from time to time. It's not the best price though. The Sony outlet stores also sell NEX refurbs, it's much cheaper. When they get them in the NEX 3 + 16mm is $249 and I think the NEX 5 + 16mm is $289. There's also a place that's been known to put up open box C3 + 18-55mm for $249. I'm keeping my mouth closed on that one until I can score one. |
