Pantech Burst Cell Phone AT&T Bands 4G Android $100 @ eBay

On Facebook on Sept 10, Pantech said "update will be coming soon". (Sep 27 is the date it will happen)

- David Buco, 9/26, 11pm central time, pantech facebook post: I talked to a rep at PantechUSA over the phone. He said that a separate app will need to be downloaded from their site - plug in the phone to the computer, start the app and update should commence.

Easy way to root:

- Turn on USB debugging before running the bat file.
- Just extract that file and run RunMe.bat. Choose option 4. Let it boot 2 times as it goes. Quit from the PC command window after it boots up and is ready.
- Then update Superuser app, and choose Root in its preferences.
- Then get Super Manager free from App store, give it root permission (settings) and now you can remove stuff.

SIM card: "Burst uses a smaller microSIM" (http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphon...27618.html) - buy a SIM cutter or cut your regular sim yourself, or check from your carrier? If you cut it out yourself, $2 from ebay stencil/adapter [ebay.com]. $1 from Hong Kong with a cutter or the same thing $4 shipped from USA.

AT&T- full support, 3G, 4G(HSPA+/LTE), etc
Straight Talk - voice, sms, 3G, HSPA+ 4G only (no LTE)
T Mobile - voice, sms, limited 3G (HSPA only), limited HSPA+ 4G (T mobile is supposedly expanding this), no LTE
