I see walmart has 35 dollar cards good for 60 days or 3.5GB whichever comes first. I call T mobile customer service and ask about that as I spotted the description online and it says they are only good for 30 days or 3.5GB whichever comes first.
Girl at Tmobile tells me you have 60 days to activate it after buying it at walmart and then it's good for 30 days.
She asks me what I need it for. I say periodic internet service when I travel. She tells me I have to put a card in every 90 days as the sim card expires after 90 days if you don't use it.
I asked about the spec about the device online and how it claims you have 364 days of inactivity before the account is deactivated. She insisted I would have to buy a new sim card if I let it go 90 days.
No joy there, I have a feeling she was clueless. Maybe they should have diverted me to India to get a real answer.
I tried calling back a few minutes later and they put me on hold for ten minutes after which I hung up. I hoped to get a more knowledgeable person. I ended up hanging up and figured it was just clueless people hired for weekend service.
From the walmart website with specs on the card it appears that the 60 day period is only good on items purchased from walmart:
Important: Only new devices purchased at a Walmart are eligible for the 60 day pass.
T-Mobile $35 Prepaid Mobile Broadband Pass (Email Delivery):
•Provides 3.5GB of data usage
•Good for 60 days
•No activation fee, annual contract, credit check or overages
•Works with any T-Mobile Internet device
Does anyone know if the device expires after 90 days or is it , in fact, 364?
