I picked this up last week from BestBuy for the same price. Great mouse after I tweaked the settings a bit.

The G400 has a perfect sensor(early models shipped with prediction, but that has been cleared up with newer models). The G500 sensor does have some slight acceleration problems. The G500 also has a dual mode scroll wheel, an extra button on the side, weight control and onboard memory for macros and such. The perfect sensor outweighs the rest of that for me, but maybe not for either of you. I also used a MX518 for 6 years, so I'm a bit biased.

Well, for me, I'm sticking with my G400. I don't need an extra button, weight control, and macros. And that there may be differences between the two sensors.
