Which HeatSink will fit Antec Sonata iii
Hi, I have following hardware.. 1. Antec Sonata iii case 2. Abit-Pro IP35 3. Intel E8400 4. two HDD 1TB and 500GB 5. 8GB RAM 6. H2600 GPU (some low profile graphics card) I am running this as a converter for my video files stored on NAS to my PS3. When this converter runs it takes 70-95% of CPU and the temperature goes above 75 C. I have stock CPU fan with one leg not properly installed. I need some good CPU heatsink with fan which can fit my case. Please suggest.. |

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...sair%20a50 I got the similar Cooler Master Hyper 212 + and it fit in my Antec case which is a bit narrower than yours even, so a tower style cooler should fit/work for you. |

Thanks a lot for reply. Another question is that how is this one compared to the one you have or Hyper 212 EVO?
Again mine is not gaming rig, but CPU intensive for video trans-coding.. |

They're pretty comparable - the only difference is the 212+ can support a 2nd fan, and the EVO performs better than the 212+. But you shouldn't need to worry about it unless you wanted the maximum overclocking ability on your CPU.
Note - only have a single fan on mine, and it keeps it way cooler than the Intel provided heatsink. Last edited by neteng101; 09-18-2012 at 08:08 AM.. |
