It's true the differences can be negligible, but I don't believe people can seriously make the argument there is no oddity on performance (I believe performance being regarded as speed was obvious by the link, in case you are still wondering what performance is defined as for SSD) for Agility 4 when they look at the metrics. I don't even necessarily agree with others who mock this drive's reliability - I just dislike the hack performance mode.

You should keep your perspective in check. 128gb M4 now sales for $75 without rebate. This is $70 prior to the chance (if actually sent in/if actually awarded) of the $15 rebate. OCZ's been running a string of rebates, and while this is likely going to offer better performance than some of the Vertex Pluses, they've had rebates on some Vertex 3/4's.

This is a deals website, that's true. Relative value for product is part of what makes a deal, not just a low number. You don't have to poop on relative value considerations just because they alienate you or aren't regarding the absolute lowest price.

No argument they are playing fast and loose with specs. Everyone does that, however. The current Samsung SSD mysteriously claims to use a small fraction of the power it actually uses. Monitor manufacturers claim outrageously high contrast ratios. It's not right, but not unusual. And it's true many users end up using a small fraction of the actual capacity of their drives. May as well use that fact to boost performance in those situations.

I'm not pooping on anything. More power to people for buying the best of the best. But it's kind of an early adopter phenomenon. In a few short months, these will all be obsolete. My attitude is may as well buy pretty much the cheapest one as long as it's not terrible. I'm not familiar with the 128 M4 deal you seem to claim is also $70-$15=$55 AR. That could well be a better deal, but you didn't provide a link.

FML I just bought a 60gb Vertex 3 for my HTPC for $40 after MIR. I totally would have done this for $15. Dammit!

I'm not the hugest OCZ fan but this price is pretty sweet.

I'm sorry for the confusion, I was trying to compare the $75 M4 to this sale which is 70-15=55$.

Also, It's very true that we're early adopters. I myself have two basically first generation Vertexes that aren't so old. Speaking to your early statement of whether the average user will notice speed differences between SSD's: while I can tell that my netbook boots faster off an M4 over Vertex, both speeds are black and white relative to booting from HDD.

Will this ssd work on mine for loading windows 7 even at a reduced speed. Or is it a no go.

Any other suggesions??
