I am used to stacking my free fraps with tons of extra shots...how am i supposed to know when im due a free one anymore without the postcard? I don't want my free drink used on a regular coffee or something...
This is wrong, it is transaction based. No matter how much you order you only get 1 star per transaction.
It was actually card-based until late June of this year. I once used 15 cards to pay for 3 drinks on a single transaction and I got 15 stars. Unfortunately, they fixed this loophole on their system. Now I only get 1 star per transaction no matter how many cards I used.
Now, if I have time, I would order one drink per transaction to get at least one star per drink.
Except... we're not. While your average consumer may pay no attention to when a free drink is coming up, or not scheme to use that on something super huge and expensive, we're not average consumers.
We pay minute attention to the details, and in fact tend to be the reason those details get further refined. We're far from average consumers.
So you substantiate my point completely. Starbucks (as always) is making a play for the average consumer (the 99% of that kind), and this change to their rewards program is a predatory way of increasing their bottom lines.
They have the freedom to do that, God bless America, but it makes me hate them more than ever and I vote with my feet.
Wow... I didnt think the non free syrups would be as big a deal as it is.
You could do what I do, and just buy a bottle or two (one for office one for home) of your favorite syrup from your local starbucks ($7 or 8) and pump your own syrups at cheaper than the 50c/cup you will have to soon pay for.
I ordered pumps from starbucks for a penny each (got 5 to justify the $3 shipping cost) and put my syrup(s) of choice at whatever amount I feel like.
Pay for the bottles and pumps with your registered card and get stars to sweeten the deal even more!
Well, the economy is better I guess? Safeway got rid of their 3cents off gas, and for gas rewards they will only go to 25 gallons per fillup. It used to be 30. Wonder if the economy is bad and companies cannot afford to give more freebies, or just that they can regain their losses back comfortably like in past times.
