Why weren't there more anti-Muslim videos and cartoons out there?

I can remember only two incidences of anti-Muslim/anti-Islam caricatures:

1) The Mohammed cartoons

2) The Mohammed video by Mr. Nakhoula

After the uproar over the Mohammed cartoons, I was puzzled by why there were not more incidences of Mohammed cartoons and Mohammed videos until the Nakhoula video.

Surely, the groups who are anti-Muslim would have seized the opportunity presented by the Mohammed cartoon situation to create more anti-Muslim cartoons and videos to inflame and spite the Islamists.

Why did it take someone obscure like Mr. Nakhoula to create the next video that denigrated Islam? Where were the prominent anti-Muslim groups/individuals who often proclaimed their hostility to Islam but did nothing to distribute their views through original cartoons and videos?

you mean like Bill Maher's 'Religious' movie that is not exactly 'respectful' of Islam and Mohemmed? just more proof that the Libya thing is not about this movie, since stuff like it and worse is all over the internet...this just happened to be a convenient excuse

There is always some people out there trying to get fame in all different ways. To answer your question, yes, there were videos and books that were made already, and will be made. But, unbiased folks will always try to find what Muslims have to say about Muhammed.

Yes, I am aware of the Mohammed cartoons and videos made by obscure individuals and groups but I'm more focused on the lack of cartoons and videos by more prominent and visible hate groups found in the following list (except, of course, the Nation of Islam):

Because the creative people who create cartoons and film are mostly liberals?

To be fair.. Islam in the united states generally minds its own damn business. Whereas those in the religious right want to impose their beliefs on others.

The U.S. Muslims mind their own business because they know that they're in the minority and if they tried to act as if they're the majority, they would only invite ridicule, shame, social ostracization, and perhaps violent response. That's why there was little or no Islamist violence against the video in Hindu-majority India even though India has the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world.

Or maybe because Muslims mind their own business and have work to do instead of protesting about a dumb movie..

Maybe everyone is responsible for their own sins so who gives a ... about a two bit movie.

The fact that they have no (I think) elected representation to write legislation is the only reason they do not "impose their beliefs on others". You better believe they vote with the religious right on social issues.
