Walmart.com has been HACKED!
I received two confirmation emails from Walmart.com for orders I never placed. When I checked my CC activity, it showed two pending charges from Walmart.com. After chatting with a Walmart.com rep, I learned the following:
Brandee: We learned some user login information (names and passwords) for an isolated number of Walmart.com customers may have been externally obtained by someone
Brandee: There was no indication of an internal security breach of our system or accounts, but rather, it appears this matter occurred through an outside source
Brandee: We’re continuing to investigate the matter. There are unrelated ways that parties obtain user names and passwords, such as a phishing expedition, computer malware or another outside source
You should check your Walmart.com accounts to make sure you don't have erroneous orders, and you should change your username and pw. If you're like everyone else in this world who uses the same username and pw for multiple sites, than you're in trouble, as it seems that they have accessed that information.
Call Walmart at 866-625-0507 to complain. I've already contacted CNN
They need to at least provide us with credit monitoring so this doesn't lead to further issues.
